Le tour de la Meije en 3 J

The Meije is composed of 3 main summits: the Grand pic de la Meije (3983m) which is the 2nd summit of the Ecrins behind the Barre des Ecrins (4102m), the Doigt de Dieu or Pic Central de la Meije (3973m) and the Meije Orientale (3891m).
To do the tour, several options are possible, from the 2 days raid to the 3, 4 or 5 days trip. We propose here two options. Do not hesitate to contact us to organize a customized program, the playground is large and the options are numerous.

3-DAY PROGRAM FROM THE GRAVE :

Day 1: We will use the Ruillans cable car which will bring us to 3200m. From there we will go back up to the Col de la Lauze to go down to the Selle valley, go up the glacier towards the Brèche du Râteau (3235m) to go down to the Etançons valley and join the Promontoire refuge (3092m)
Night at the Promontory hut.

Day 2 : Early wake up, with the headlamp : direction Brèche de la Meije (3357m) which will require the use of crampons to reach the summit. From there, we'll switch to the foot of the imposing North face by a short but beautiful descent before putting the skins back on and joining the Serret du Savon passage (3399m) where ropes and crampons will be put to the test again. It is here, with skis on, that we will reach the emblematic Aigle refuge, perched on its rocky spur at 3450m. It separates the glacier de l'Homme from the glacier du Tabuchet.
Night at the Aigle refuge.

Day 3 : Depending on the conditions and the level of the group, we can climb the Meije Orientale (3891m). Then we will have a great descent of more than 2000m on the glacier de l'Homme (or Tabuchet depending on the conditions) !
Back to la Grave.
