Day 1 :
Discovery of the equipment, adjustment, adaptation to oneself. First steps, discovery of the gestures in ice climbing: anchoring crampons and ice axes, motor skills.
This day, the progressions will be done in second of rope. Everything will be dedicated to the gesture, and to optimize the movements and the rests, to be able to place one's own anchors. Ice pinning workshop at the bottom of the cascades, then in the pitches, as a second, to practice.Day 2 :
First steps in head, with anchors in place, in easy waterfalls. Improvement of the gesture in more difficult stunts, in second. Refinement of postures, storage of equipment on oneself, and fixing of pins on the ice.Day 3 :
First steps in the lead again! but this time by placing the anchors yourself, in part, in your length. Depending on the level, we start with "small" big routes; the roped parties do one or two pitches in a row, then abseil back down. Depending on the weather and the conditions of the moment, improvement in second in hard pitches to finish!
Day 4 :
Discovery of a new sector of ice climbing, one hour maximum from the Alpe. We will continue our progression, adapted to the participants according to the site and its conditions.
Day 5 :
Discovery of a new sector, and practice of ice climbing on several pitches. Two or more pitches in a row, and abseiling down. All the learning of the week will be necessary to make this last day!
NB: Be careful, this is winter mountaineering; like all outdoor activities, and even more so in winter, and even more so with the ice and its vagaries, it is a "conditions-dependent" activity! But that's what makes it so charming. Also the guide will adapt to the best of his ability to these conditions so that the practice is safe and satisfies the participants as much as possible!
